    I have a large military patch collection,(16.000 ), with many variations. While collecting I saw many types of stitching and different backs, different sizes to the the same patch. Often I have featured the back of these patches knowing they were authentic. Other then see an explanation on eBay or from another collector and yes in other book dedicated to patch collecting.. I have found that this book, World War II U.S.made fully machine-embroidered, cut-edge, shoulder sleeve insignia is the book I have relative to these questions. I found the explanation was clear and often accompanied with color photographs, After reading some of explanations I was able to place a notation beneath many of the patches in my collection.   • Almost a home run

    A very thorough book, explaining the manufacturing methods of original period patches. Well illustrated with hundreds of photographs. My only complaint is that I would have preferred to see originals directly compared to modern copies to better visualize the differences. I've read through the manual twice and I'm still confused about differentiating between old and new.
