About this product

Product Information

After winning 2003 PC "Game of the Year" awards from a number of magazines and online publications, the World War II-themed first-person shooter Call of Duty seeks its Finest Hour in this 2004 console version. As in the home computer original, GameCube players experience the game through three different campaigns, which have them taking the roles of an American, British, and Russian soldier in turn. Each campaign is designed to offer a distinct perspective, as the player's characters and their squad mates participate in historically inspired battles across four different continents. The Call of Duty series is noted for its historical accuracy and cross-cultural perspectives, its interactive environments, and its cinematically styled approach to story-telling. The PC original was developed by Infinity Ward, a team comprising several designers who had worked on the successful Medal of Honor series. The Finest Hour console versions of Call of Duty are the first games from developer Spark Unlimited.

  • One of the Finest First Person Shooters Available!

Reviewed for Big Boss Games by: L.E.G. As a lover and avid player of FPS (First Person Shooter) type games, I am probably one of the toughest critics and a game must satisfy all my criteria for me to give it a 5/5 rating. Without any doubts, Call of Duty Finest Hour has successfully accomplished this lofty goal. To start with, Call of Duty Finest Hour is entirely based on events that happened during World War II. But, ActiVision took on a bigger role than just making a video game and actually tries and succeeds in teaching us a brief history lesson. Granted it's very short and concise, but it helps to setup the game and it's many diverse and challenging levels. You start out playing as a member of the Russian Army fighting with your comrades on the Eastern Front, from the Volga to ...

  • World War II Shootem up game

This game has lots of action but if very hard, some of the levels are extremely difficult. One of the levels took me 3 hours to beat and if you turn off the game, it starts you back at the beginning of the level. They should have introduced a quick save so if you got tired you can save the level and restart where you left off. Lots of action but extremely hard to beat. I finally finished the game and the last level it is you against about 200 germans protecting a bridge. Fun game but very difficult...

  • A great game.

This game is a very good game. You can go into war as a Russian, British, or American. Some of the levels are hard to beat, but is still exciting and gets your adredalin up. Many guns are on the ground are better then the ones you have. If you like war games, then get this game. The only downside is that it has no multiplayer.
