    Good machine with good reliablity

This is the second player of this type I use. I have an MC3 that I have had for about 20 yrs and it still works quite well. The one feature that is second rate on both models is the random play feature which I use all the time. There is a tendency to pick out the same disc and the same track on a frequent basis. I had hoped a newer model would be better in this regard but both are much the same. I like the ability to be able to exchange discs with no interruption to the play. Changing discs is a bit noisy as the disc clunk into place. Too bad these aren't still manufactured with and upgrade in technology.

  • Excellent sound; great value

Love this machine. Really compliments my surround sound system by holding such a large quantity of CD's (60) while providing great sound. Got a great price due to no remote. However, I control entire system with Harmony remote, so I just added unit through Harmony program and everything was golden.

  • Worth a Look

The Technics SL-MC4 is not an exceptionally well built piece of equipment, but given its relatively low price when new, and the price you can find it for now, that's to be expected. The changer mechanism is loud and the sound it makes isn't very confidence inspiring. The SL-MC4's sound output, though, is fine, and it has most of the features you would expect from a mega-changer, such as CD-Text capability, group play functions, a full shuffle mode and the ability to change discs while playing. If you need something cheap that can hold a lot of CDs and sound alright in the process, the SL-MC4 isn't a bad choice.

  • Technics CD Changer

Just received the unit today and it seems to do exactly what it is supposed to do. I was lucky and the seller had the original remote and a copy of the owner's manual, so everything was pretty simple to get up and running. I think the input of title and artist may be a little time consuming; but, I will load up my best cd's and eventually take the time to enter in all the information. In the meantime, I am going to just sit back and listen. Oh, I might mention that it does have a digital connection as well as the analog stereo jacks. A great piece of equipment from a great seller.

It's a great CD changer. It holds a decent amount of discs and changes them quickly. Sound quality, like most Technics CD players, is very good. In general, if you want a nice vintage CD changer, this is a fine choice.
