  • Boston Symphony's endorsement is understandable

    I bought this instrument for my 17-year-old son, John. He has been playing the bass trombone, tuba, and sousaphone for three years now in middle and high school, and he desired his own. The reason he desired this particular model and brand was that he used one (somewhat beat up) at school and was most familiar with its operation and sound. Boston Symphony's endorsement was a real bonus. (Mind, I am not really impressed with the Boston Symphony for its attraction to more pop than art, but I cannot deny that they need to make money). The price was no small matter, believe me. I emphatically pointed out that if John does not use the instrument for a *very*long*time* I was going to be infuriated and immediately sell it. My son has taken to it like no other instrument he has played to ...
