This is about as close to the truth as you'll get if you want to know how and why victim's of emotional and physical violence don't leave their abusive "loved ones," whether it's a husband, wife, father, mother, boyfriend or girlfriend. The ties that bind are strong and insidious. Celani writes for both the professional and the layman here. Professionals will understand easily and laymen, if willing to think about it, will learn a great deal. Reading this will give you a head start in therapy. You won't be able to dig out alone...but this will give you the outline and plan.
