    Polar A3 Heart Rate Monitor

    I bought this just to get the transmitter belt. The price was actually just as good or better than buying the T31 transmitter alone. Both work as advertised. However, know these things about the A3. You will probably know, as I did, that it is an older unit. I have an even older Accurex model which I still use. However, as near as I can tell there is no lap function on the A3. Also, I can see no way to see your heart rate as well as the stop watch time function at the same time. Oh my!! But, I'm happy with the T31 belt.

    OK once I figured out the battery issues

    I use these monitors as equine monitors, so I needed to components. Worked fine once I figured out that the battery had been installed upside down. Replacing batteries in these things is a pain, but once I did that, it seems to work fine.

    A less expensive alternative.

    A great alternative if you are primarily concerned with having an ongoing, accurate monitoring of heart function. This is my second unit; my first Polar lasted 8 years of daily use.
