About this product

Product Information

Square's 2003 role-playing game makes its DS debut with wireless support for up to four adventurers. As in the GameCube original, notable for its use of the Game Boy Advance as a controller, the world in Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles is enshrouded in a deadly gas called Miasma. To save the realm, players must venture deep within a series of foreboding dungeons to locate ancient trees with the power to purify the air. The Legend of Zelda-style action takes place on the top screen, while the touch screen displays helpful information such as dungeon maps, enemy radar, and the location of treasure chests. After selecting a character from one of four tribes, each varying in strength, defense, health, and magic, players will travel from town to town via caravan. Along the way are opportunities to talk with local townsfolk, purchase supplies, and complete errands, but the focus is primarily on real-time battles with an assortment of colorful enemies. Players can perform melee attacks or cast spells, with teammates able to string together more powerful attacks by quickly tapping buttons in sequence. Each puzzle-filled dungeon culminates in a boss battle that requires a combination of attacks to succeed.

  • Top favourable review

Quick play to see if good, and happy

Graphics are spot on with the DS when first launch, so no 3DS, but good enough as DS game. Sound is good for 3DS xl console, and is a US region but works like so many other regions on my AUS console as it is opened up. Music is good, and voice of speech is perfect.

  • A great game!

I bought 3 copies to play this with my two boys. We're having so much fun playing through it! It's the first action RPG they've played, and they are having a blast, and me too! It's kind of like "baby's first Diablo" haha! :)

  • Bottom line, if you like rpg's or Final Fantasy games, pick this up.

I bought this product because many of my friends recommended it to me. As, never playing this series before, i was unsure of what to expect. I am a fan of rpg's and found that this game had fluid controls and great game play. The only thing that I disliked about the game was that using magic was a bit difficult.

  • Excellent, maybe the best DS co-op game to date

Ive been looking for a game to get a friend into gaming and this one is it! This game pushes the DS to it's limit on what it could handle! I know the game reviewers gave it an 8.5 because it didn't have online play. But the local play is fantastic! They are not taking under consideration the hardware limitations of the DS. Imagine having made a significant progress in the game in co-op and having your the game freeze because of a faulty/surge internet connection? I'm glad they kept the online out of this one. Even if you "have it" buy one copy to encourage the developers to make more fun titles like this one.
