Seller Notes: “Nan Coffin & Doc Welty Log Creek Pottery (Paoli, Indiana, Nan: San Diego, CA; Allied Craftsmen; ... “Nan Coffin & Doc Welty Log Creek Pottery (Paoli, Indiana, Nan: San Diego, CA; Allied Craftsmen; Third Pottery) earthy likely wood fired ash glazed globular lidded jar, pot, vase with abstract incised sgraffito designs around exterior. Concave underside with wadding marks. Stamped "LOG CREEK POTTERY" at underside, along with another stamp at foot which we can not decipher. Brown stoneware ceramic body. In excellent vintage condition with what appears to be a firing imperfection where some glaze adhered to the underside of the lid and the rim edge, causing what appears to be a thin hairline where the lid was lifted after firing. It's almost invisible unless you look extremely carefully for it. Measures approximately 8 x 8 inches in diameter, 8 inches tall lidded, and 4.50 inches in diameter at the slightly concave base. Opening at top measures approximately 4 inches in diameter. Beautifully thinly potted - weighing approximately 3 lbs. Will weigh between 5 and 6 lbs packaged.”
