    Don't Mess with the SEALS

Our REAL Navy SEALS in Action! This film is good on several levels. 1) The actors are actual SEALS 2) the movie has plenty of action and depicts real situations 3) The Good Guys can also suffer, but prevail in the end

  • pretty good movie. i would rent this before buying this movie.

in a unique project, directors mike mccoy and scoot waugh pay homage to u s military personnel, allowing real life navy seals to star in their fictionalized thriller. the concept is inventive although not a complete success, in part because seals are good at their day jobs but don't spend a lot of time training actors. that means many of act of valor's quieter scenes come across as stagey and forced, in stark contrast to the bits featuring professional performers. on the up side, mccoy and waugh have done a fine job demonstrating the sort of ridiculously dangerous missions seals are trained for and just how good they are at accomplished their goals. the plot centers on a chechen radical (actor jason cottle) who teams with an international drug dealer (alex veadov) in an attempt to smuggle ...

  • Well worth your time to watch & too have pride in those who go down range.

Quality of package as a whole: Excellent!!! I purchased a Blu-ray player to watch this movie! This movie is an excellent portayal of a group of warriers heard about, but rarely ever seen. The author & director portrayed the SEALS and the SEAL Team reasonably realistically. What's missing is the impact of the sounds and smells of the fight. The movie portrayed the "Black Ops" these war-fighters are engaged in through a small keyhole reasonably well, inspite of the dark & murky secrets they have to live with and the secrecy of the world they live in. This movie is VERY much worth the time to watch, too take in, engaging the mind of the war fighter past and present, along with the civilian in what "may be" going on out there. For those who have been in this community a while, I still ...

  • Worth watching

I enjoyed this movie. It isn't for everyone since it is real SEALs doing the acting, not actors. Great plot. Shows the kind of missions these guys do. Just wish there was an easy way to get it streaming on Vudu or similar with a code with the physical media.

  • Best Modern War Film

"Five O'Clock High", "Platoon" and "Saving Private Ryan" are what I consider great war films. "Act of Valor" adds to my list.
