    A worthy debut effort and a must for any true IDM fan

    For those of you not familiar with Arovane, he falls firmly into the IDM genre. "Atol Scrap" is his first full length release, following a number of 12" releases. At times "Atol Scrap" is reminiscent of the more melodic moments of mid-period Autechre. "Amber" immediately comes to mind, but overall "Atol Scap" does not quite manage to reach that extremely high bar set by one of the legends of the Intelligent techno scene. That being said, "Atol Scrap" should defintely be part of any IDM fan's collection and would appeal to fans of the more melodic side of glitch. Be sure to check out his other releases "Tides" which includes more strings than "Atol" and his most recent masterpiece "Lilies" which is by far his most consisitent and impressive release to date.
