    Very detailed general info but lacks specifics

    I was initially very impressed on my first read like this is written for med students. But on re-reading it seems similar to new age writeups of healing stones. Take just the discussion of coffee on pages 136-7. Cites studies but doesn't tell you which ones so you can evaluate the studies and who funded them yourself. Has 20 pages of references by chapter at the back of the book ordered alphabetically by author. Says all kinds of things happen in the body from drinking coffee but doesn't say how much they happen and how those values compare to normal function or to other activities that cause these changes. Makes no mention that caffiene constricts blood vessels and whether that is good, bad or indifferent or how that compares to other activities or foods that constrict or dilate blood ...

    Great book, love how it shows in charts what to eat but I was a Medical lab tech and this book made me feel I was back in class. It’s an overload of information.
