Synopsis
African-American artist Aminah Robinson (born 1940) produces an array of richly textures, colourful multi-media works. Grand collages on fabric, sculptures, drawings, paintings, carvings, quilts and books weave memory into works that document her own and her community's history., For me, there is no distinction between life and art. Folk art has to do with families and communities. It's timeless. It permeates the soul. It's the way people do things that's passed from generation to generation.
