The Anova sous vide cooker is must have for the accomplished foodie, or for the professional chef.
I don’t know how I’ve gotten along without this outstanding sous vide cooker all these years. The precise cooking control achieved with the Anova cooker means no more overcooked, expensive cuts of meat. It’s as accomplished at preparing seafood of all types as it is in turning your tougher cuts of beef into tender, mouth watering meals. Paired with a quality culinary torch, you can achieve the same results as an expertly BBQ’d steak, fish or chicken dish. The Anova Precision Cooker will change the way you prepare gourmet meals, especially on those days when inclement weather, or the need to entertain your dinner guests, limits outdoor preparation. Poor instruction
The unit works very well and holds the temperature at the set point. It has builtin wife to work with your smart phone. The only problem I have with it is that I do not have a smart phone to set the timer. I had to order a plug in timer to shut the unit down. The timer I got only goes up to 24 hours. If I need to cook longer than 24 hours I have to set the timer the next day or hope that I don't forget to turn it off when the cooking time is up. The instructions that came with where of very little value.The unit works very well and holds the temperature at the set point. It has builtin wife to work with your smart phone. 99% will not have connection problems.
With the display controls if you have connection (wifi) problems you can use the app - get the temp/time info and key that info in. If you are the 1% like me you have to do network troubleshooting. I had to do the following: 1. Make router 2.4 ghz radio visible (not hidden). 2. Temporarily turn off 5 ghz radio. 3. Re-install smartphone app to clear out prior settings (clean the slate) 4. Set smartphone to 2.4 ghz not 5.0 ghz. (Anova works only with 2.4 ghz.) 5. Move anova and smartphone to the room where the router is. 6. Plug anova into power, press connect on the smartphone app and follow directions. Now that I got it working - it's a beautiful thing - find recipe in app press button "cook this" and you are off. If I wasn't a retired network engineer I would have had to call Anova ... I love the Anova. I still haven't been able to connect to the wifi feature but have been using the manual settings fine. The one thing it lacked was directions but that was easily found on the Anova website. Very happy with my purchase.

Great & easy.
First time attempting to cook meat via a "water bath" but I read so many positive reviews I had to try it. Amazing how moist and juice even a lower grade of meat like a london broil can turn out. Love the app feature with the Anova, input what you are cooking, the wellness you desire and it will do the rest for you.
