      Nice item for less money

      First of all, if you are going to buy a new one, it will cost you like $500+. This one is very very cheap (of course it is used). Secondly when you install it, you'll have troubles to detect and access it. One easy way would be to keep pressed the"Reset" button for 20+ seconds, the led of NIC will start to blink amber, at this point the board will fully reset itself to factory settings. In such a mode the admin user will be "apc" password "apc". The ip address will be taken through DHCP, so make sure that you have an DHCP server in your network.

      Works great, great price, reset to be able to connect to it

      Works great! Thanks to reviewer fastphone for noting that you need to hold down the reset button for 20 seconds to reset username and password. Maybe more like 25 seconds, watch for the blinking LED to change colors. And I would add: use the front panel to change IP settings, don't bother with the IP configuration utility, it didn't work for me. The front panel display will tell you what IP it received. When you connect to it, be sure to add https :// in front of the IP.

      It Works

      got the card on time, plugged it in and it powered up OK. Nice addition to a rack-mount APC UPS, now we can monitor it remotely using IP tools. Good Value, would buy again.

      Required Add on

      Before learning about the AP9630/31 cards we were often in the dark about the condition of our UPSs. When does the battery needs to replace? what is the temperature of the unit? How much run time? After integrating the cards with our SNMP software, we can quickly determine the status and get alarms before a situation develops into critical. Just wish this functionality was built into the UPS

      Great network add on for APC UPS

      This card enables me to administer my backup power supplies which are scattered throughout my house. I can see the state of the batteries and align the power plan in case of a power loss. Well worth the money.
