    Good Drum

    1963 Duo-Glide FLH. I was worried that I would get the typical pacific-rim knock-off but the chrome rear brake drum I received exceeded my expectations. Just note that I think what was in stock at the time (Summer 2017) happened to be from a good batch from a good manufacturer. The unit was round, and nicely lathe-finished on the shoe contact surface. I fitted the shoes to the drum by attaching 200 grit sand paper inside the drum with 3M double sided tape (with the grit facing the shoes). I then put the drum and shoes back on the bike in order to spin the wheel while applying pressure to the brake. A friend spun the tire while I pumped the brake. I took it apart twice to check that the glaze on the shoes was uniformly removed indicating that they were fitted properly to the contour of the ...
