  • Very relaxing

I like this DVD cuz Shiva Rea is really good. She answers most of the common pregnancy v.s. exercise/ yoga question, explains each movement well, and has 2 other ladies who are both pregnant in different trimester. The DVD is really relaxing, it helps you stretch and breath so well, and it also takes you to do some kegel exercise. This yoga DVD really isn't the same as her other DVDs, they are not moving so fast, and there aren't a lot of muscle strengthening. What I am not sure about it, after the workout, I don't feel like I got any 'real exercise,' and I'm not sure if I should or should not feel that way. I have always been a "hard core" exerciser, and even with yoga, I would always feel muscle sore afterwards. Now since I'm pregnant, I shouldn't feel exhausted or tiredness, but I'm ...

  • works for me

I take prenatal classes at a local yoga studio, but I just needed something to help me do yoga during the week because I couldn't afford to go to a class more than once a week. This video does the trick for me. I don't love the teacher in the video. I think she is a bit slow, and sometimes it sounds like she just throws is yoga words and phrases that don't fit. The video taught me some tips for a few poses, but it is not very helpful for practicing a tradiational yoag breath because she doesn't remind you to breathe very often in the video. But again, I am getting what I need out of the video. I only do the first two segments because I think the "floor work" segment is stressful on my knees and just uncomfortable all around. The final relaxing segment is just not what I need to start my ...

  • Best Prenatal DVD Out There

I was a devoted fan (and still am) of Yogazone Postures for Pregnancy until I got Shiva Rea's DVD during my last pregnancy. I alternated between these two DVD's every day of my pregnancy and I have been doing the same with my current pregnancy. The key difference between the two is that Shiva Rea features two women in their 2nd and 3rd trimesters respectively in the Yoga session (while she is in her first), and each woman has very clear and appropriate modifications for their stage of pregnancy which has proven to be invaluable to someone like me who has pre-existing joint and back pain. In addition, the Shiva Rea DVD has a great deal of side/hip-stretches throughout, as well innovative moves that incorporate belly-dancing, calisthenics, kegel exercises and more. You really feel as if ...

  • very good. one of few worth buying

Has 3 women, one for each trimester. Modifacations use chair, pillow, brick or block and strap. Yoga workout is pretty easy and also has a relaxation portion. Only 'gripe' is the way host says 'exhale' weird like 'ex-zaaaaale', which is slightly annoying if you concentrate on it. This is one of the few preg. yoga DVD's that's worth it. Even will help you 'get started' with yoga if you decide to during your preg. Already recommended to my preg friends out here.

  • Excellent buy for the money!

As an individual who likes doing yoga in a class setting, I found this a bit slow paced for me. Shiva Ray, however, has a very soothing voice and for the moderate yoga enthusiast, this pace may be considered perfect. I love that it showcases three women in different stages of their pregnancy so that you have a personal guide for the necessary modifications given your personal trimester. Overall, I feel more relaxed and my muscles are comfortably stretched opposed to tight and tense.
