Rockville RXM-S20 Micro Marine Amplifier
This is my second amplifier for another boat project. The first (same) amplifier ran/worked strong all summer, really pushed its limits. It will overheat and shut down on hot summer days if volume is really cranked up for long periods of time but will cool down quickly and turns on again (only on hot summer days). I was pleased enough that I decided to buy a second. Really good sound with lots of power. Running 2 x 6.5 speakers and a 600 watt RMS subwoofer with ease. Hopefully the overheating issue has been corrected since as this second one has slightly different (better) power and speaker terminals.This is my second amplifier for another boat project. Great at first, but do not last.
I have had three of these RXM-S20's. I have two on my boat right now and one in a box that was a warranty swap because channels keep going out on these units. I won't be buying anymore. After about a year (or less) the channels quit working one at a time. That is, one of the channels stops and you loose a speaker. Just cranked the boat up for Summer and found I had one channel out on one amp and one channel out on the other amp. Unfortunately, they are out of the 1-year warranty so I can't haven them replaced. Learn from that I haven't and spend the money to buy a quality product the first time. However, they do sound good, so if you want a cheap amp for short-term use, these are ok. Stopped working
The second day I took my boat out with this amp turned on channels 1 and 2 stopped working out of now where. No water even got close to the amp. For being a marine water proof amp I'm very unhappy with this product. Trying to reach out to Rockville for support and nothing so far. Buy something with a good name behind it.
