No other way to describe this knife but beautiful, simplistic to the point, shine it does with a little extra touch with the spine brass. Well done.

    Excellent knife.

The knife is excellent. Fit and finish are great. It is razor sharp and will hold an edge acceptably long. The sheath is good quality leather and well made. Personally, I don't like the steel clip but some people might. I will say that if you are planning on carrying this knife in your boot, like it is designed for, they better be tall boots. I tried it in a pair of 16" tall boots and the point of the sheath sat at the top of my ankle. But overall, the knife is excellent for the price. And it is a Gil Hibben...

Expected more from a Hibben Knife

Expected more from a Hibben Knife. Absolutely great looking knife. The Blade looks great and it is nice and sharp. My problem is the handle, even though it also looks great as well, I might have gotten one that wasn't finished or a second. If you run your hand over the handle there is three spots that are sharp enough to cut your hand especially where the handle meets the spacers front and back. I have bought cheap knives at the flea market that had better finishing on the handle. Not sure if this is a good representation of a Hibben knife, like I said it might not have been finished by mistake.

  • Pakkawood handle. Not hardwood

Gil Hibben makes some nice knives and this one is no exception, overall. But don't try to tell me that the handle is hardwood. We both know it's not. At first I thought it was plastic, which would be unforgivable on a G.H. knife, but I've since come to the conclusion that it is pakkawood, a wood/plastic composite. To me it really distracts from the beauty of the rest of the knife. I mean, it makes the knife look ugly and cheap.

  • A Solid Piece of Steel

Just a fine, sturdy, knife but the design seems to be going in several directions at once. The blade is thick and the bevel strong, which makes it a useful bush knife. But the brass back-strip might interfere with batoning and will get bashed up pretty quick doing camp work. That brass is supposed to be used to catch the other guy's blade during a fight, but to use it that way requires beaucoup training. So this is a good piece and I'll be proud to carry it, but mostly I'll just use it to cut stuff, it seems good for that.

  • I was amazed!

I have several totally handmade knifes in my collection. I was amazed at the attention to detail and the quality of this knife. I would recommend this knife to anyone that's looking for a sharp dependable knife that they can use daily without being worried about damaging.
