Good value, not much for finish
Internally quite similar to a Hardy. The finish is rather pedestrian, an almost rough bead blasting followed by what appears to be a coating of some sort, whether paint or powder I couldn't say. If it is anodized it is certainly a different style than what is usually seen. Function is perfect, weight is appropriate to size. The only thing that could make it better would be an improved finish, which was/is available on the Lochmor-S, or better yet, the Lochmor-X. Sadly these appear to be reserved for the European and Asian market. Buy it, fish it, it is a workhorse, not a racehorse. Will last a lifetime....Internally quite similar to a Hardy. Great click and pawl reel
If you like click-pawl reels and don’t want to drop $110 for an Orvis Battenkill you really should consider this reel. It’s cast rather than machined but still nice fit and finish and classic style. No slip or excessive play. Not much drag resistance (but no click-pawl does). The clicks are loud but not obnoxious. Great reel for the money.
