This was my fourth attempt to replace my mom's clock that stopped working. All the replacements were very poor quality knockoffs that sounded nothing like real birds. Finally I got this one - a genuine and exact replacement of our original clock. Thank you!!

    Good enough

I wasn’t expecting an artistic miracle from this clock, and the result is good enough. I put it up near my canary’s cage to give him the sounds of other birds to listen to. He is not impressed – the sounds are pretty metallic and false, and he does not sing back to them, though he sings with gusto in response to radio/cd music and to my own singing voice. Still the clock isOK. I enjoy the quiet ticking. (I have several ticking clocks). The “sound off when the lights are off” feature works well, and I appreciate it because the canary needs quiet at night. In all, it’s a novelty item and good enough at what it does. I got a brand new one in the box and paid just over $30 for it. I think that was probably the maximum anyone should pay for this clock.

  • Family Heirloom for sure

well, you need to want this particular type of clock - which I do because I had one as a gift that lasted many years, and I wanted another to remind me of the giver - it is exactly the same as the original"

  • Telling time by bird song.

I've had a bird clock for about 25 years. My kids used to say it was half past the black capped chickadee when asked what time it was. When our bird clock dropped and broke we were really upset. You can imagine our delight when we found a new bird clock with the same bird configuration! We looked at others but we are used to knowing the time by the bird song. (My son hiked the Appalachian trail and his companions were impressed with his knowing what birds were singing). The clock is now back on the kitchen wall and when the Baltimore Oriole sings we know it is 6 o'clock.

  • Spring every day!

And we need it in New England. My dad had one of these in his study and, though some people like to call it tacky, everyone loves the birdsong. You can see it from across the room. I keep it in my studio to keep my dad nearby while I'm working. I think it's great!

  • What you see is what you get.

The light sensor works! I love my birds. It is plastic just like it says.
