Wish it was better produced, but the history is interesting.
Being an older production, the sound was not clear, and with the English accents, it was difficult to follow. It was clearly a low budget production. On the other hand, my husband throughly enjoyed it and learned some history from it. He watched it with interest, so I am happy that I purchased it. He would have given it a better rating.

A very enjoyable set for someone who enjoys English History.
I happened to buy this set, at the very time I was re-reading "Churchill's History of the English Speaking Peoples." By coincidence, I arrived at period depicted in the "First Churchills," exactly at the same time that I reached the same period in Churchill's 4 volume set. I was amazed at how faithful the DVDs were to what Churchill had written. I remember watching the "First Churchills" when it first aired on PBS many years ago. I found it as enjoyable now, as I did them. I happened to buy this set, at the very time I was re-reading "Churchill's History of the English Speaking Peoples."
