The Sims go on vacation in the fourth add-on package for Maxis' hugely popular "people simulator." Sim families can enjoy dozens of new activities on an inviting vacation island, free from the drudgery of the daily grind. Drop a fishing line, try a little snowboarding, or just relax by the beach. Don't forget to do some souvenir shopping before its time to go back home. No matter what their personality traits, Sims of all sorts can find fun and excitement in The Sims: Vacation Expansion Pack.<br><br>As in the successful The Sims: Hot Date Expansion, this add-on allows routine-weary Sims to escape the confines of their suburban neighborhoods and visit entirely different locations full of new activities, objects, and opportunities for social interaction. As Hot Date introduced "the Jock" and "the Blonde Bombshell," Vacation also brings an assortment of new non-player characters. The resort staff members strive to serve Sim needs as best they can. Costumed performers in each location entertain the kids.<br><br>But don't let the sneaky PickPocket end the fun early -- he'd like nothing better than to pilfer a few simoleans from distracted tourists. Fancy-free vacationers should also be wary of poison ivy, or even a case of "Montezuma's Revenge." As in the earlier Sims expansions, a diverse variety of new situations will bring out the best (and worst) in favorite Sim characters. The island is even customizable, with areas begging to be developed or rebuilt by creative virtual architects and landscapers. Like any expansion pack, The Sims: Vacation requires an installation of the original game for play.

    Great expansion

    I love the Sims and their expansion packs. I have a couple other ones but I played this one and I loved it from the beginning. It's an okay game and has many good features. If I didn't have it, I would buy it.

    Great addition to Deluxe but lost Sim Creator.

    I have Deluxe Edition and I'm very impressed with Vacation! I love all the new NPC's that walk around. There's a lot of new things to build and buy. It's very fun! My only problem is I lost Sim Creator after installation and my little computer can't take it sometimes.

    So thankful to have found it on here! My missing piece!

    This was one of the best expansion packs for the original Sims! (of course Sims superstar was my favorite though) I bought this product for finishing my Sims collection, I had lost this game, and found it on here for a very good price, I was willing to pay. It didn't matter to me if the case was cracked or not...I just wanted the game. Now compared to Sims3, of course its not as good, but if your a simmer like me, you'll respect the quality of this game!

    sims vacation

    i have all the oher expansion packs but i never got around to buying this one. i hate the sims 2, and i really enjoy playing the first version of the sims, but now since the sims 2 is so popular you can only buy the regular sims & their expansion packs in expensive packs that include like 4-5 of the other expansion packs which i already have. i was pleased to find this expansion pack sold seperately for a verry cheap price!
