    GOOD, NOT GREAT "SEAGULL"

    Annette Bening , as always, is wonderful. But Ronin does not erase memories of Vanessa Redgrave in the 1968 version. Everything else is good,

    Overall not as thrilling as four superb performances

    If you're after a lotta laughs and chuckles, Chekhov ain't it. But if you are interesting in the subtleties of human relationships portrayed by some of the country's finest actors, this is a quietly intense examination of both familial and romantic love; Annette Bening knocks it out of the park as a mother who fails to accurately judge her son's problems.
