    Shimano Calcutta 700B

    Great product!! Most all Shimano fishing gear is top notch!! Use this rig with 65lb braid for red snapper, grouper, and amberjack...just about any offshore fish under 100lbs!! Nice with the level wind feature as well!!

    Great reel, very large foot.

    Superb reel in every way concerning function, but be careful of what rod you try to install it on. It has a very large foot. I have two St. Croix rods, one a Triumph series 8’6” MHF2 which the reel will fit into the seats well, but the Avid series 8’6”MHF2 the reel will not fit into the seat without some modification to the foot.

    Bargain Pricing

    Saved $35 on this purchase over local retailers. I already own one of these reels and purchased this one to go with a custom made rod for my local Volunteer Fire dept raffle. I built the rod and donated both to the fundraiser. Pulled in $2K on the rig. I highly recommend Shimano products for all salt water fishing.

    Quality Shows

    I am an experienced fisherman living on the coast of NC, I have several conventional reel outfits, and several Shimano Reels, I am looking forward to using this reel Jigging Offshore for Cobia and Grouper, Like using Lighter tackle and this fits the bill, More review after I have fished with it, I own several more outfits some more expensive than this reel, but I Still Like it, It looks to be well made!!, I'll be putting it to the test soon,

    Nice larger size to its sister the Calcutta 400. Super quality and a faster retrieve than the Abu Garcia 7000 I use when working larger baits. No bells and whistles, just a solid workhorse for big fish.
