About this product
Product Information
When Snowbear hears a beautiful and mysterious sound coming across the ice floes, he wonders who or what is making it. Snowbear wants to learn how he can make this music too. The melodies haunt him until he feels he has to find out where they are coming from. He leaves his home and sets off across the ice to seek the music maker. Along the way he meets Walrus, Arctic Fox, and Raven, who give him advice but do little to help him in his long and arduous search. When he finally finds the source of the soulful sounds, it is not what he expected, and he is soon called upon to use his own strength and talents to rescue the mysterious music maker.

Reviews
Grigg complements her first story for children with soft-edged, cool-hued watercolors that powerfully evoke the white-bound north. This tale of the polar Snowbear opens with a call to adventure, the summons of the mythic hero. This is a song of such haunting beauty that the young bear must follow it to its source, and so he does, leaving his mother and setting off across the ice floes. ''Maybe I can make those sounds and fill myself with songs,'' he tells his mother, to which she lovingly growls in a guardian-at-the-gate manner, ''Bears don't sing.'' The hero cycle, as Joseph Campbell delineated it, is followed nearly exactly, from the lyrical opening and through the unfolding of Snowbear's journey. Snowbear struggles through challenges, as his path is wracked with not only loneliness and uncertainty, but also with very real physical and emotional pain., "Grigg complements her first story for children with soft-edged, cool-hued watercolors that powerfully evoke the white-bound north. Ordered a workbook. No where in description did it say it was written in. Took 10 days to receive. Contacted seller twice and included photos of the inside of the book and they failed to reply. I’d seriously reconsider purchasing from this seller.

I am SUPER happy with this transaction. I got an epic deal on a less common hardcover. They sold it to me for about $9 and all the others like it are going for about $30. There was no photo but really happy! Mack was ahead of his time, and a beautiful soul, taken too soon. Thank you on this great deal! Looking forward to reading about all these alien encounters, with such a great minds, insight. The book was listed as good and it was indeed in really good condition. Thanks a lot !!
