All Cormac McCarthy is good!
love all cormac mccarthy. the setting is more contemporary than the border trilogy but is still an intense good read. not as great as blood meridian however, which is one the best books i've ever read.

Worth reading, then see the movie!
First let me say that my opinion is currupted having seen the movie prior to reading the book. I have to say that I enjoyed the movie better as it gave a darker view of the story and the acting was outstanding. Without giving any spoilers, I will say that the book varies somewhat from the movie and does provide a few more answers to questions that I had after watching it. There was a balance of characters that had more of a roll in the book but less or not at all in the movie. The book stayed true to the main characters overall but I thought the book made Anton's character seem a bit more human (if thats possible) than the movies depiction of him being this evil, almost ghost of a man. I was not crazy about the authors style of writing when he was giving descriptions of things or actions ... Anyway, I can go on and on but will say that I probably would have given 4 stars if I had not been spoiled by the Cohen Brothers film.(I'm a big fan of thiers) That being said, if you can do so, read the book first then definitely see the movie. The book itself is an easy read and is reletively short in my opinion. I hope this helps! Enjoy!

No Country For Old Men
Cormac McCarthy is an incredible author. His command of the English language is awsome. I am not a particular fan of novels of the Old West, but McCarthy could make his grocery list entertaining. He is discriptive in the extreme and his vocaublary is enormous. His tales are most often tragic and they just seem to stop rather than end. If you want a story with a happy ending, skip his books. If you like a book where the author is able give your a vivid mental image of the setting and deep insight into the characters, you will not find a better writter. No Country for Old Men
No Country for Old Men is a taut powerhouse of suspense and moral quandaries. Despite being perhaps one of McCarthy's more outwardly simplistic novels in form, it dwells in unmistakable themes of fate and chaos. It will not disappoint with either its thrilling action or its philosophy.
