Handling time was stated three days but was shipped 7 days later; I had to ask if the product was still being shipped in order to get an update. Product was packaged poorly with zero protection and this is a collectible book that can easily get damaged in the shipping process. There was also a small rip in one of the pages that was not disclosed. Overall not a good experience.

Set in the 22nd century, the game begins as seven competing ideological factions land on the planet Chiron in the Alpha Centauri star system. As the game progresses, Planet's growing sentience becomes a formidable obstacle to the human colonists. Alpha Centauri features improvements on the Civilization II's game engine, including simultaneous multi-play, social engineering, climate, customizable units, alien native life, additional diplomatic and spy options, additional ways to win, and greater mod-ability . Alien Crossfire expansion introduces two non-human factions as well as additional technologies, facilities, secret projects, native life, unit abilities and a victory condition. You can design you own war machines, infinitely re-playable, a random 3d world generator with unlimited ... Alien Crossfire
This add-on to Sid Meiers ALPHA CENRAURI is my (and my wifes') favorite game of all time. We play on a home LAN on seperate computers and trade information and technology whenever one of us discovers or learns something new. We like the super-size planet to give us more time to set our cities up before we have to fight any of the other Factions. We set most of the planet parameters to random and average and the other Factions to random. The two Alien Factions are really cool, as they have evolved on this planet in the past, and are mortal enemies. The nice thing about this game is that you can play as single player by yourself (with the other Factions), on a LAN with up to seven others or on the internet with up to seven others. Once you learn how to set up your cities, schools, farms ect. and how to work or fight with the other Factions, a single player game can take up to 12 hours to complete. My LAN games usually run about 20 or more hours. I am the Host computer (as my computer is 3 Ghz) and my wife joins the game on LAN. When you want to quit and continue later, the Host saves the game, then re-starts it at a later time when both (or all players) are ready to play again.

best good old game ever
First off, make sure you know the difference between the original release version and the Sold Out Software version before you buy. I remember playing this game when I was in 8th grade. This game was so hard to get a new copy because it turned into a rare collectors item. This is awesome that it is re-released.

It's Alpha Centauri!
If you're buying this, you should know how great of a game this is. I would consider this one of the greatest in the 4x genre. I would definitely recommend anyone to buy this product and would definitely buy it again if I had to.
