About this product

Product Information

Sega's popular light-gun arcade game makes its Wii debut with four-player support and added content. As in the 2004 coin-op, a secretive Special Forces unit known as the Ghost Squad is sent by the United Nations to neutralize a terrorist threat. The Wii Remote is used to shoot down enemies, rescue hostages, and disarm explosives throughout three missions of play. Twenty-five weapons can be unlocked, ranging from pistols and shotguns to assault rifles and submachine guns. Hand-to-hand moves are also supported for close quarters combat.

Other terrorist-thwarting tools at your disposal include night vision, thermo vision, and when all else fails, a simple flashlight. While the console version still only features three missions, Ghost Squad on Wii offers new modes and features over the arcade game. Each mission, for example, offers multiple levels, alternate routes, day and night variants, secret costumes to unlock, and other surprises, allowing players to revisit stages for a new experience or challenge. Flexible control options allow solo soldiers to dual-wield Wii Remotes or up to four players to battle terrorists on the same screen.

Best On-Rails shooter for the Wii stystem

If you've ever been to an arcade and played Time Crisis or any of the other On-Rails shooters you will really enjoy this game, especially since it's exactly the same as the Ghost Squad arcade at Dave & Buster's only without the vibrating machine gun the arcade provides. The graphics are what you would expect from this type of game, it's not built to wow but to entertain. And this game is very entertaining. Picked up a pair of the Perfect Shot pistols and the buddies and I play it quite often. There is endless replay-ability from different scenarios to chose as you play each mission, also there are in game weapons and many unlocks that make you want to keep coming back. Highly recommend. Also a plus is that unlike the others(i.e. Living Dead shooters stuff) there is no blood/gore in this ...

  • Another great arcade port from Sega

Sega graces us again with a port of another one of their great arcade rail shooters for the Wii. Like with House of the Dead 2&3 Return, this is another fun, and classic light gun rail shooter brought to the Wii. Because it's a port of a game released in the early 2000s, needless to say, it looks like a Playstation 2 title, however, no one's here for looks, anyone picking this up knows it because they played it in the arcade. Like with House of the Dead 2&3 Return, all of the content is present here but Ghost Squad comes with a considerable amount of extras than House of the Dead. Aside from the standard game, there's a variety of different challenge modes, unlockables, and gameplay styles to try. Such modes include a non-lethal enemy arrest mode, a super hard mode, a ninja mode, and an ...

  • A fun simple shooter

Ghost Squad for the Nintendo, Wii is a pretty fun first person shooter. With there being so few good shooters Ghost Squad sticks to the basics of a FPS. Point, shoot. You can use the Nintendo Zapper also but it's much easier to just use the WiiMote. The game itself is only 3 missions but the level of each mission increases adding new tasks and pathways. For this reason there's a lot of replay value but only if you're someone who wants to unlock all the different weapons and costumes. It also has a nice 2 player which makes it a lot more fun. No online play though, just a scoring leader board. (Which isn't much) Graphically it's OK, nothing mind blowing. If you're familiar with the arcade version of the game it's very similar but a bit more 'clean'. If you can get a good deal on ...

  • Ghost Squad performs better than I thought

Ghost Squad is a very cool game. I was particularly impressed w/ the graphics and the overall flow of the game, especially when it comes to first person shooter games. I also dig the options of choosing which scenarios to take in the middle of the mission to further enhance the joy of playing. So far, the one dislike I have is that there are only 3 missions to the game. The player can advance to multiple levels w/in those 3 missions, but it seems that you can only play each of these so much before one gets bored w/ them. Playing this game on the Wii is very much like playing it in the arcade w/ the movements and shooting style, what w/ having to 'shoot' offscreen to reload, etc. If you have this game, I would recommend playing it w/ just the remote and the Wii Pistol Shot accessory. ...

  • Good, especially in short bursts

The game transitions well from the arcade to the home console on the Wii. The game is fun and has different control schemes which is fantastic since I have the wii zapper, blaster and nkyo perfect shot (so I can use any gun from my arsenal - depending on my mood.) The game is a bit simple, but can be addictive in short bursts, nothing really spectacular about the graphics or sound but in the end it seems to be one of those games that's just perfect for the Wii and its unique controls. Despite the fact the game is simple and somewhat short - it tries to encourage re-play through secrets and different options available in previous rounds. Probably 7 out of 10.
