The Intel 320 Series SSDSA2BW300G301 is a 300 GB solid state hard drive that provides the buyer with plenty of storage in a smaller yet reliable footprint. Weighing approximately 2.9 oz and measuring 2.8 inches wide by 0.3 inches high by 4 inches deep, this Intel 300 GB hard drive has a maximum read transfer rate of 270 Mbps with a write transfer rate of 205 Mbps. Since this is a solid state hard drive, it is much more stable than standard hard drives since it does not contain the moving parts of disk plates and arms that a standard hard drive contains. The Intel 320 Series SSDSA2BW300G301 also comes equipped with data protection features that can help protect the buyer's data from external threats as well as internal-system issues when it is pre-configured with the Advanced Encryption Standard. This Intel 300 GB hard drive detects and protects from unexpected power loss by saving all cached data that is in the process of being written prior to shut down. The drive is also smart enough to identify a faulty NAND array and reconfigures itself in order to reduce possible data loss. The interface for this Intel 300 GB hard drive is via SATA 3 Gb/s and is compatible with a drive slot with a form factor of 2.5-inch SATA. Mean time between failures for this device is estimated to be 1,200,000 hours.
