About this product

Product Information

Family is a powerful force, as demonstrated by Prince Lace as he fights his evil enemies to save his twin sister, Princess Iris, in the Nintendo Entertainment System video game, Dragon Spirit: The New Legend. The first battle will determine if Prince Lace will continue on as a blue dragon or a gold dragon. Game play in Blue Dragon mode requires Prince Lace, now appearing as a dragon, to successfully move through nine battle areas. If the Gold Dragon mode is the path that will lead to the rescue of Princess Iris, the challenge drops to five battle areas. At the end of each area, a climactic battle with ensue with one of many menacing bosses. The NES controller provides two options to attack enemies and objects that attempt to hinder the progress of the dragon. The A button fires bombs at objects that pose a threat from the ground, while pressing the B button results in fireballs targeting threats in the sky. The dragon color relates to the difficulty level, so not only does the gold dragon have fewer areas to complete but he also can take twice as many hits as the blue dragon. Playing the full version of Dragon Spirit: The New Legend challenges the blue dragon with all the obstacles in the game as he faces dinosaurs in the Paleozoic Era Area, volcanic lava in the Volcano Area, swarming insects in the Jungle Area, fire breathing monsters in the Graveyard Area, spiders and moving walls in the Cave Road Area, thick ice walls in the Glacier Area, attacking fish in the Deep Sea Area, a multitude of enemies covered in complete darkness in the Dark Quarters Area, and the final boss, Galda, in the Dark Castle Area. In usual Nintendo fashion, there are rewards and perks that help the Prince Lace dragon complete his mission. When the dragon destroys enemies, he could be rewarded with the ability to move quickly with an increase in speed, a wider range for his firepower to attack enemies, maximum firing strength, the power to shrink to a smaller size so he can squeeze through tight spaces, two smaller dragons to accompany him, invincibility, a protective barrier, a gift to create earthquakes for widespread enemy destruction, power bombs that cause the ground to tremble, an increase of 5,000 bonus points, and a power up by one level. While collecting these rewards and perks, watch out for the skull, or the dragon’s power will decrease by one level. When each boss is defeated for each area, Princess Iris’s maids might appear to offer additional rewards. You can play through the entire Dragon Spirit: The New Legend NES game in both the Blue Dragon mode and the Gold Dragon mode to experience the unique ending for each game play mode. Arcade gaming enthusiasts can enjoy the action of this vertical arcade shooting game played on the NES gaming console. Dragon Spirit: The New Legend is trademarked under Namco Limited, whose beginnings in the amusement industry and arcade games are rooted in Japan. The Entertainment Software Rating Board has not established an ESRB rating for Namco’s NES game, Dragon Spirit: The New Legend.

The watch arrived earlier than expected but the seller appears to use copy and pasted item descriptions that don't match the product. 1. The item arrived in nonfunctional condition. 2. The item did NOT arrive w/ original paperwork and box as claimed in the description but by itself wrapped in bubble wrap and stuck in an envelope. 3. I called citizen customer service and downloaded the PDF manual to try and service the watch but it needs a new battery and may still not work once thats replaced.

  • A childhood favorite...

I had received this game years ago as a present from a friend from elementary school when it came out, then ended up losing it to another friend later on. I loved the music that accompanied each level and how the story just kind of revealed itself. The intro allows you to decide whether to continue the game on challenging mode or easy mode all depending on how the first act goes. Typical of all vertical space shooters, this has the feel of a fantasy world as the dragon itself with unique power ups and energy icons throughout each stage. I've missed this game for years and now it's mine once again!

  • Dragon Spirit (NES)

This game is one of my favorite spaceship-type shooters. It's a vertical-scrolling shooter with a fantasy setting, and probably the best part is that you're a DRAGON! This game was also released on the Turbografx 16 with better graphics and sound quality, but I prefer the nintendo version over the Turbografx 16 version because there are more powerups, added cutscenes, and (in my opinion) better levels and gameplay overall. Although you can get the T16 version on Wii virtual console for five or six dollars, you could probably get Dragon Spirit for the NES for even less on ebay. The gameplay is typical for the genre, meaning you fly around shooting fireballs at incoming enemies whilst avoiding their returning fire. In addition to this you are given a ground bomb that eliminates ...

  • One of the best SHMUPs for the NES

Dragon Spirit: The New Legend is a Vertical Scrolling Shoot 'em Up (SHMUP): little bit remake, a little bit sequel, all awesome. It takes place after the arcade classic, Dragon Spirit; the player assumes the role of Lace, son of Amru from the original Dragon Spirit. His goal is to save maidens, rescue his twin sister, and destroy the evil threatening the world. The game consists of nine levels from volcanoes, to jungles, to the seas; several fun bosses, and two playing modes. During the prologue of the game, if the player succeeds in defeating the boss you may play in 'Blue Dragon' mode; which is harder but rewards the player with the true ending. If the player dies during the prologue, you play in 'Gold Dragon' mode, which is much easier and gives you the fake ending. The power ups ...

  • Best Early Shooter!

This game one hell of a reason for me to stay indoors in the spring growing up. This can be a gamer nirvana or absolute nightmare that you actually wouldn't mind revisiting over and over. Some Nintendo games are known for there challenge and some are known for bad programming. Luckily the challenge you will find with this game is far from bad programming. If you fail several times, its user error. Once you get the hang of the patterns this game can be one very smooth side scrolling shooter. The musical score is superb in comparison to most Nintendo Games. Right of the bat, if you die in the first level you get an alternate character to play as for the rest of the game. I liked that aspect, with that being said it is worth it to not die in the first level. You will get a far better ...
