The product arrived well packaged and clean. Worked as expected and compared to the Mac Pro I purchased at full retail, better in all respects at a fraction of the original cost. One disappointment was the power cable supplied was not original equipment. Not a big deal at all but the original equipment AC cord has a special molded enclosure at the MAC end designed to interface with the MAC and seamlessly integrate with the casing. The supplied AC cord was a generic after market cord.

The Mac Pro 6,1 came as described with an AM power cord, was in pretty good condition aside from some very minor sticky residue on the sides that was easily removed with rubbing alcohol. Runs perfectly fine, no crashing of issues and the exterior of the device is in very good condition with only a few minor bumps and scratches. Thank you!

Mac pro 6,1. Item was clean, a lot less dust inside than expected. 2 sticks of 16 Gb of ram, meaning I could just install another 2 sticks and get 64 Gb. That was much appreciated. Brand new install of Mojave. After taking it apart, thermal paste was dry, but that's apple's fault. Repasted and fully upgraded. This was a killer buy.

2013 Mac Pro - an excellent Desktop System

Item was actually in what I would describe as excellent physical condition upon receipt. I had difficulty upgrading internal drive from High Sierra to Mojave. The Apple SSD simply would not take the upgrade, although it went through the entire process twice without upgrading. When I looked at the drive using terminal - it showed nearly 20 different disk designations! Erasing did not resolve multiple disk issue. Fortunately a drive RESET using Parted Magic solved the problem and the drive upgraded to Mojave on the next attempt. I then installed the new 1TB drive I had purchased, restored from Time Machine, and it has been smooth sailing ever since! I admit, my computer usage doesn't require a Mac Pro. However, in seeking a Desktop upgrade that essentially matches current system ...

    It’s powerful, and ugly

With all my cables plugged into this thing, it is literally an eyesore. Need to find a way to hide it in my studio. Works well with logic, which sees 12 rather than 6 cores (uses virtual tech for that trick.) also, thunderbolt is superior to FireWire for UAD connections. My main fear is when will Apple stop supporting it with an OS X update? only apple knows.

  • Fast and compact Mac

Very nice computer, almost perfect condition. This computer boots up faster than any other I have seen. Best mac I have ever had and it's my sixth one in almost 25 years of mac use. Quieter than an iMac. You'd have to put your ear to it to tell that it's on. The keyboard had some shipping damage but it all works fine.

  • What a change between the Mac Pro 5,1 and 6,1

The Mac Pro 6,1 is a powerhouse of a machine, capable of editing 4K video. With the right external drives as backup you can use Thunderbolt 2 to offload files for storage. I found plenty of Thunderbolt 2 drives on sale at ebay. The Pegasus 2 series is the best. You can change out the memory and storage easily. Buy the most GPU you can as it is limited in options. For example I went with the 500 series over the 300 series. We are at the end of the Thunderbolt 2 era. Mostly what is available new is Thunderbolt 3 now a days. So you can find some deals on ebay for Thunderbolt 2 Pegasus drives. The big difference with the MacPro 6,1 is the weight. The older 5,1 weighed a ton.

  • great product, but quite buggy

i was bough my used mac at december, 2014. it came with old mac os preinstalled (i cannot remember version), so i decided to upgrade it for recent yosemite. after upgrade process is finished, mac didn't want to boot. after turning computer on, i see only cursor on black screen. i've decided to make pram reset, which helped, and yosemite started to work on my mac. it's quite comfortable to work on mac, but many troubles waited for me. in first 30 days of my mac experience it was randomly rebooted near 20 times. without any error messages - it just reboots while i'm working - so i'm losing my opened files. various mac os x applications was crashed many times. but most annoying thing is this random reboots. i've contacted support - they told me go to apple store ...
