About this product

Product Information

Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse serves as a prequel to the previous two games in the series. You control Simon's ancestor, Trevor Belmont, and quest to put an end to Count Dracula's evil ways. Trevor is not alone in his quest, though. Along the way, he meets a thief named Grant, a sorceress named Sypha Belnades, and Dracula's good-natured son Alucard.

Trevor is very effective with his whip, but the wall-crawling skills of Grant, the spells of Sypha, and the bat-morphing abilities of Alucard all come in very handy, though Trevor can only be accompanied by one at a time.

After the player has played through all 15 levels and defeated Dracula, one of four endings can be seen, depending on Trevor's companion.

Very challenging but a lot of fun.

Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse is a classic video game. Very challenging, but a lot of fun to play. Not only you can play Trevor Belmont, but you can play other characters, too. But to get to the other characters, you have to pick and choose of what level in the game you want to take that leads you to a certain character. If you haven't played this game yet, then you're missing out. It's a classic in its own right. Been a fan ever since I can remember.

  • Classic side scrolling Platformer

Castlevania 3 is such a great nes game. It has so much replay value and it has so much gameplay variety, even by today’s standards. The music is outstanding, the password system is great, the gameplay and action is fun, solid, and this game will give you a challenge for many decades to come. Take it from somebody who’s been playing this game since it first came out.

  • Three times the charm

The Castlevania series has been known for being great for being an awesome 2-d side scrolling action adventure where you play a determined vampire hunter. Castlevania 2 made the mistake of being like a half assed action RPG. Castlevania 3 however returned to the classic formula of having linear stages, but this time you have multiple paths on the way to Dracula. Also, depending upon the path you choose you meet new companions who will join you on your journey. You can meet up with three other companions, Alucard, Grant or Sypha. They will join you after you beat them or the boss where they reside. The gameplay is simple, you have a whip, it is upgradeable and you get many different sub-weapons which can be fired by pressing up and the attack button. The best feature of this game are the ...

  • A Blast from the Past!

Makes me feel like I am 10 years old again. Always loved this Castlevania better than 1&2. Having multiple characters to choose from through out the game is very Kool! Highly recommend.

  • Not to be missed -- period.

This is another one of those games that I wish could have 6 stars instead of five -- for several reasons. What is NOT to love about this game?! It has everything -- earth tone graphics, dark driving music (my favorite soundtracks are Level 2 -- the clock tower level, and Level 5, the Alucard level), better play control (than in Castlevania 1), and the challenge is just right. The replay value alone is worth playing for years to come, especially because you can choose some non-linear paths. If you wish to beat the game the easy way, you would probably want to skip the clock tower level and acquire Sypha the white mage. MY preferred way of beating this game is going through the clock tower level and picking up Grant then trading him for Alucard (Dracula's son) later in Level 5. I then ...
