Polynesian Barbie Dolls
The dolls costume is outstanding, but she really doesn't show her ethnic features. The newer dolls of the world skin tone and makeup are more authentic. Still she is a beautiful doll.

Mattel had a great idea here in their,"Dolls of the World Collection". The back of the box has a informative story about the country and surrounding geography of where the doll comes from. It includes some facts about cultural traditions and then a little story telling about the doll and how she lives with her family... The doll itself is very lovely and although it has been kept in its box, never played with and packed away, what its really meant for is to be played with. How will little girls learn about these different countries and their unique customs if they just look at the doll and never get to take her out of the box and start pretending she is a Polynesian girl about to go to a luau to celebrate her families...whatever, whatever that is that she cares to imagine. So, I love the ... Mattel had a great idea here in their,"Dolls of the World Collection". Also, kudos to the seller for setting free all those Barbie's stuck in their boxes, some for more than a decade, and selling them to be used for what a toy is supposed to be used for, to play with, not sit in its original box and be part of some adults collection that they are hoping to turn into a large sum of money, someday.
