Item was not like new as stated - dust cover was crinkled at the top and bottom. Not a deal breaker but would be more careful listing and/or packaging. Bigger bubble mailers are sometimes better.

  • Honest and candid memoir of a Rock & Roll Icon. . .

Not Dead & Not For Sale is the first rock & roll memoir I've ever read... and it did not dissapoint me in any way. The book succeeds in illustrating NOT the glamours of the rock & roll lifestyle, but instead the person behind the rock & roll image. Weiland is well known for his battles with drug addiction, but this book takes you beyond the headlines and to the reasons how, and the reasons why. You learn more about Weiland the man, the husband, the brother and Weiland the artist. One of the real treats for STP fans is Weiland candidly discussing song meanings and their inceptions. Most of STP's big songs, as well as some album tracks are discussed. Additionally, some Velvet Revolver and solo recordings are discussed. All in all this is a good read. It's an easy read, and if you're ...

  • Great Book

I loved this book. A crazy page turner that's hard to put down once you get started. I'm a huge Weiland fan so getting this glimpse and incite into the life of one of the greatest frontmen of our time, was a huge treate. Ranging from his childhood, his two dads, family and friends, all the way to present day...the book is a fun read. A fun read in the sense that you can read a few pages and put it down and come back to it later because the chapters are very short. Also a fun read because the content is very interesting and keeps you wanting more. Great book, very interesting read for any STP/Velvet Revolver/Scott Weiland Fan.

  • A true STP fan will purchase this book.

This autobiography by Scott Weiland is very interesting, yet it has the propensity to leave diehard STP fanatics wanting more substance and detail to the stories Mr. Weiland decided to share. This book can be read in a day or two at most. I suggest having STP albums playing in the background to enhance and share the emotions that Mr. Weiland evokes in the chapters of his book. A true STP fan will purchase this book and enjoy reading it. Possibly put it on the bookshelf and use it for lyrical/anecdotal reference, or pass it off to a confidant who is interested in learning more about this incredible band and simultaneously learn about the particular hardships brought on by: drugs, love, passion, money, and how this band uses their musical creativity and chemistry as therapy for the soul.

  • great read, interesting guy, nuff said!!!!

Ok as A longtime fan of STP and Mr. Weiland himself, I found this book to be very insightful into the life of a true rockstar. While the book did reveal alot I didn't know Previously about his life, I felt like he left alot out basicly writing alot that WAS already known by most fans. Still I am such A fan into the rockstar insights, so on that alone I give this book 4 stars, the one thing lacking was not being longer or more detailed.

  • Awesome!

Easy to read. Interesting. Great book. RIP Scott!
