Lots of bang for your buck!

Although this is an older model it has a lot to offer. It has a great sensor and compact design. When used with Magic Lantern and C mount manual lenses it makes a very compact cinamatic camera. Thus far I'm really enjoying all the benefits of larger dslrs in this compact body even w/o a flip up screen. I'm more likely to bring this camera a long w me causally than my bigger camera. The image quality is great too in pictures and video.

  • This is an excellent camera, especially if you know what your doing.

This is an excellent camera, especially if you know what your doing. With the 22mm lens it is tack sharp. Mine has the updated firmware 2.0.2 and focusing is not that bad. I found the touch screen focus and shoot mode to be very useful. Images are clean up to ISO 3200 and not to bad at ISO 6400 and with a 2.0 lens you don't have to be afraid of the dark. I use this camera in manual or aperture priority and only shoot RAW so I cant speak to the other modes like Auto. The touch screen is very responsive and using the wheel on the back to make quick changes in shutter speed etc. is very fast and easy. Unlike my 6D your not going to get shallow DOP with this camera but in low light you can stop down the 22mm to 2.o and still get a crowd of people in focus, that can be a good thing. The ...

  • Thoughts from a film maker

One of the better starting platforms I've used. The price is great and the lenses for the camera are excellent. I use this camera more than most my others and it because of the size and the available kit. One of my favorite run and guns. I highly recommend the Eos m.

  • Easy to learn features

The camera has a user friendly program, even for a first-time mirrorless user. The image quality is clear with vibrant colors. The lens kit allows you to have fun with a variety of photos. Lots of fun.

  • The best bang-for-the-buck Canon camera on the market, but need more lenses

The Canon EOS-M has been a much-maligned little camera when it was first released. I believe it is the result of 2 different factors: - The original firmware resulted in poor autofocus performance (now pretty-much fixed with the current firmware). - The camera was quite expensive ($799) when first released. Current prices have settled down to $320~$360, which is a STEAL considering that this camera is essentially a cut-down Rebel T4i sans the optical viewfinder and flash (a pocketable $65 accessory which is equivalent to the pop-up flash on the Rebels). It is considerably smaller and lighter than a Rebel T4i, all the while capable of shooting the same quality pictures and video as a T4i. It is quite a bit easier to carry as a walking-around camera than the T4i. Once used to the ...
