About this product

Product Information

The truth about Elvis's death from the doctor who spent eleven years as "the King's" personal physician, father-figure, and confidant - "Dr. Nick." Dr. Nichopoulos spent a decade with Elvis on the road and at Graceland, trying to maintain the precarious health of one of the world's greatest entertainers. But on August 16, 1977, he found himself in the ambulance with Elvis on that fateful last trip to the ER. He signed the death certificate. From that day forward, Dr. Nick became the focus of a media witch hunt that threatened his life and all but destroyed his professional reputation. Now, for the first time, Dr. Nick reveals the true story behind Elvis's drug use and final days--not the version formed by years of tabloid journalism and gross speculation. Put aside what you've learned about Elvis's final days and get ready to understand for the first time the inner workings of "the king of rock n' roll."

Seller negotiated on pricing which was cool. Either way, condition was as shown, and I don’t mind paying for it because the Skaven are awesome and this book is hard to get. Would buy from seller again. Packing got top marks.

  • Worth The Time To Read! Compassionate Insights

This book is written with compassion that some others seem to lack. It gives the reader a better understanding of the relationship between Elvis and his doctor, who had Elvis' best interest at heart. As you read you find out that this doctor tried to heal the emotional as well as the physical pain that his patient was in. He recognized that a pill was not always the answer and wanted to heal instead of just provide another prescription. This book will show you that all the prescriptions given were for others in Elvis circle and this may be where the misconception has come into play for so long. It makes the reader think for himself: If Elvis was taking all these medications prescribed how could he perform the many tours, etc. that he did? Elvis was always at his best when performing so why ...

  • Dr Nick's Perspective finally told...

This perspective by Dr Nick could only be told by Dr Nick himself. He tells the story that millions of Elvis Presley fans have waited to hear for years. How they met and how it all ended 10 years later. It's a roller coaster of a story . As a reader , I just wanted to scream at Elvis and get him to stop his dependence on the drugs which ruined him. Dr Nick had an impossible patient to deal with in Elvis. Elvis was addicted to drugs and he was going to get them no matter what. Elvis just had too many other sources and regardless of Dr Nick's best intentions , he was being undermined by his patient. That's the core of this book by Dr Nick. I'm sure there are many other perspectives to this very sad story but I wanted to get Dr Nicks perspective for years. In the end , we lost a gifted ...
