I am a collector. This was a sealed item. After purchase I contacted the vendor and mntioned packaging is important as I don't want it damaged. It was then packaged in a bubblewrap letter sleeve, which was just big enough for the box to fit in. It's not surprising then, that at the corner not only the seal was damaged, but also the product itself, which drastically reduces it's value for a collector and could easily have been avoided with better packaging. It's no longer "new" but got heavy wear

Item is priced at $14 Free shipping. I strive to balance secure packaging cost-effectiveness, for lower-priced items. The packaging chosen was intended to protect the item while keeping shipping free. However, the request for what was considered an excessive amount of packaging, followed by demand for a partial refund, was beyond the scope of what was reasonable yes he collects $14 items a result of this situation I made the difficult decision block and ban this account from future transactions.

Old school L-arm cymbal stand is still the way to go.
OK, so I'm an old guy with an old school drum background. I've always played my ride cymbal on an L-arm mounted on the bass drum, and still do. This low mount model by DW puts that ride cymbal exactly where I want it. With my forearm parallel with the ground and my bicep nearly perpendicular, my ride is right there. Perfect! DW hardware? Top notch equipment all the way around as are their drums.OK, so I'm an old guy with an old school drum background. Great Piece
I had to go to hardware store and get longer mounting attachment screws. 1 inch long screws instead of the ones that come with the piece. Take the mounting piece with you to the hardware store as the screws are metric and I think course thread so make sure they screw in to the mounting piece correctly and easily. I bought the short arm as I have a 22 inch bass drum. I place my ride cymbal about the same height as my large left wing tom (14 inch width by 10 inch height) top rim where I like it (both angled a bit). The plate provided for placement inside of bass drum attaching screws is a real nice touch and provides for solid mounting with only 2 mounting holes and screws. I used the rubber gasket taped to the bass drum as a template to center punch pilot holes into the bass drum. Use a ... Not the one pictured
The cymbal arm is high quality DW hardware and was a good value for the cost. However, the one I received was not the one pictured. I wanted to use it on a vintage kit and expected the one with the simple wing nut tightener, not the longer plastic arm. I'll use it, but am a bit disappointed.
