About this product

Product Information

Mega Man is back in "Mega Man 4" for the NES. In this NES game, both developed and published by Capcom, the villain isn't Dr. Wily, who died at the end of the third game. This time, you'll face off against a new character, the mysterious Dr. Cossack. However, Cossack seems to have the same plan as Wily: unleash eight Robot Masters to destroy the world. Like Wily before him, Cossack can only be stopped by first defeating these eight robots. After fighting your way through his henchmen, you'll storm the fortress of Dr. Cossack to end his reign of terror.Gameplay in "Mega Man 4" is similar to past games in this series. You'll select a stage from eight available stages. As Mega Man, you'll run, jump, and shoot your way through each level. A variety of enemies stand in your path along with bottomless pits and spikes. This Nintendo game was the first to introduce the Mega Buster, a powerful charge shot that lets you fire a large blast across the screen. This blast does double damage to any opponent it touches. Your character also retains the sliding mechanic from the previous game. Rush also returns, turning into objects, such as a coil and jet. These modes let you fully explore the environment to find hidden items, like Energy Tanks. There are also two new items in the game: the Wire Adaptor and the Balloon Adaptor. Each of these items will help you navigate some of the game's tricky platforming segments. At the end of each level is a powerful boss. Like Wily before him, Cossack designed each robot with a specific ability. Dust Man resembles a vacuum cleaner and will shoot garbage at you. Skull Man attacks you with powerful floating skulls. Drill Man prefers close combat with the drills on his hands. Defeating a robot lets you use his weapon at any time. For example, defeating Pharaoh Man gives you access to the Pharaoh Shot, a flame-based attack. Each boss is weak to the weapon from another robot. For example, using Toad Man's special ability on Bright Man will do four times the normal damage to him. However, you can only use each special weapon a limited number of times before the power runs out. You will need to collect refill items in each stage to continue using your weapons.Mega Man's adventure will take him across the globe to a variety of locations. Each level shares the same theme with the Robot Master that guards it. Dive Man's stage is primarily underwater while Ring Man's stage takes place high in outer space. You have unlimited continues to finish the fight, so don't give up. If you want to take a break and play this video game later, a password system lets you save your progress. This retro action title from Japan has no official rating from the ESRB for the NES. However, this Nintendo game is suitable for gamers of all ages. "Mega Man 4" continues the string of excellence from past games in this series.

One part of a legendary NES series!

Megaman 4 drives the NES computer to it's limit with great graphics, an awesome soundtrack, and tight, responsive gameplay. More difficult than Megaman 3, this offering to the series introduced the Megabuster; a charge attack for the basic blaster. Highly recommended for any NES collection, the Megaman series was the gold standard for the NES and Megaman 4 among them was considered one of the best of the best. If you are an NES collector and don't mind a challenge to your reflexes, this game is a must have!

  • One of the better classic MM games!

Underrated Mega Man game! I love the weapons specifically, and some of the stage gimmicks are unique and quite fun! I really like the music as well ^^

  • Very cool game

Megaman 4 fun awesome megaman game fight bosses and use megaman to charge up meaning blast enemies and takes the bosses hp meter down somewhat a lot and its not too hard if you're good at playing megaman games for the nes.

  • Awesome game

Megaman 4 was a game that I spent most of my childhood throwing my controller in anger at. whether it was the fact that my Nintendo sucked and the game shut off or I couldn't get past a certain stage, It was a hard game to beat when you're about 5 years old. But besides all that, the game is incredibly fun and I have childhood memories linked with it, so I wanted to play it on the NES again. However, now that I'm older and have way to many hours of playtime in my childhood, I beat it within 2 hours of getting it in the mail. Now I just have to get the other Megaman games, so I can start my frustration all over again.
