About this product

Product Information

DARKNESS FALLS, set in a remote town of the same name, begins with the foreboding dramatization of a local fairy tale. According to the story, Matilda Dixon, an old woman who serves as the town's resident tooth fairy, is severely burned in a fire, and thereafter wears a porcelain mask to protect her face from pain of light. One day, two children are discovered missing, and the townspeople wrongfully accuse Matilda. She is quickly lynched, but vows revenge upon the children of Darkness Falls. As the first story concludes, another begins: Kyle, a young boy, loses his last baby tooth, and nervously enters sleep, afraid the "tooth fairy" may visit. He is warned not to look at her but does exactly that when Matilda arrives, catching a glimpse of the porcelain mask that will haunt him forever. Kyle eludes death by finding refuge in the bathroom light, but his mother is yanked into the darkness and murdered. Twelve years later, Kyle (Chaney Kley) has moved onto Las Vegas, but remains plagued by his past, and carries an enormous collection of flashlights for his own safety. He receives a call from Caitlin (Emma Caulfield, television's BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER), his childhood girlfriend, whose brother Michael (Lee Cormie) is behaving the same way that Kyle did after his traumatic encounter. Kyle returns to Darkness Falls to try and help Michael, setting up an ultimate conflict with Matilda that claims the lives of many who can't avoid the darkness.

  • Scary without explicit gore

This is the kind of horror movie I like: scary but not overly bloody. The heroine, played by Emma Caulfield, takes an active role in fighting the monster. The backstory about the old woman known as The Tooth Fairy is explained at the beginning. The Tooth Fairy's ghost generally sticks to the rules; for example, it has to be dark for her to kill, and this film (unlike many horror movies!) does not inexplicably forget the parameters it establishes. Best of all: the title has a double meaning, as it refers to both literal darkness and the name of the town the Tooth Fairy haunts. No sex scenes or excessively foul language. Since the Tooth Fairy targets children, this film may be especially scary for kids; however, if your kids like horror films, this one is no worse than what they'd see ...

  • Don't piss off the tooth fairy

This is a movie that tells a story about a pissed off tooth fairy. If this interests you, please watch this film. I found it to have a beautiful look. It was imaginative and had an original take on a childhood folktale. The camera angles were interesting. The characters were a change of pace with the damsel in distress being a male. He does save the day and conquer his fears in the end. I thought the actor who portrayed the lead was good and wondered why he was not in more films and TV. He died last year so all we are left with is a small volume of his works. Enjoy them. The little boy was really cute and believable as the tormented kid that dared to peek at the tooth fairy. Emma Caulfield plays the other sister. She must protect the men in her life from an unbelievable horror. I really ...

  • darkness falls

Emma Caulfield, who plays Anya on the Buffy series was the main actress here, and I wanted to see more of her in another role. She didn't disappointment. I would like to see more of her, but none of her publicity photos seem to be available as easily as those of Sarah Michelle Gellar, or James Marstens, or the other Buffy acting team. I just wanted to see them, the plot and the other stuff is often interesting, and informative, but as a film buff, one can be too critical of various directing or lighting aspects to be of much interest to the general public.

  • Darkness Falls

If you really want to screw your kids up about fairy tales.. this is the movie. Who knew the tooth fairy could go so wrong. Its a diabolical twist on a fairy tale that you wont soon forget. Good acting and a ton of scares along the twisted way. Grab your flashlight and pray the lights dont go out! Make sure you brush your teeth before bed so you never have to deal with this toothy fright. Grab the popcorn with extra butter, a fizzy coke, and for heavens sake, grab the dental floss!!! NOT for kiddies

  • Darkness fall DVD.

It's okay movie I'm kind of didn't understand it but I'll watch it again but the quality of the movie was excellent and the transition of the movie went very well happy for that thank you very much.
