About this product

Product Information

An escaped convict accidentally destroys a stunt shot while a movie is being filmed. When the driver dies in the subsequent car crash, the director of the film decides to quickly replace the driver with the convict, thus saving them both from the police and setting up explosive dramatic ironies between the real world and the illusory world of film-making. O'Toole is brilliant in this brilliant film. Academy Award Nominations: 3, including Best Director, Best Actor--Peter O'Toole, Best (Adapted) Screenplay.

  • The Stunt Man

Great DVD with a marvelous performance by Peter O'Toole as the Director of a film within a film. Steve Railsback is also outstanding as the fugitive who finds his way onto the set and becomes the main Stunt man for the production. Excellent in every category and a must see for budding filmmakers, Cine fans, and of course for those who enjoy the work of Mr. O'Tool. 5 stars out of 5.

  • The Stunt Man (DVD, 2001)

O'Toole's best role since Lawrence of Arabia. This picture changed how film would br directed for many years. It got us out of thge sappy 70s style of film making to a more mature style that treats the moviegoer as inteligent as appossed to a mushroom. A real gem:)
