A durable, fun lens for your adventures.
I took a chance and bought this lens used, so I'm not sure if the aberrations I see on the lense are from the previous owner or just the way the lens is. I am using this lense on a Pentax K-X and I am in love with it. The lens is a bit heavy compared to similar focal length Pentax lenses, but I really like the heavy lens feel, it balances out the weight the camera has with AA batteries. The aperture ring has a decent range, and an 'A' setting, which makes it function perfectly on an SLR as well as DSLR. The lens is manual focus only, so it's important that the focus ring moves smoothly and this lens does not disappoint. I can dial in perfect focus in seconds, and focus is held until I change it, the perfect ammount of tension even on a beat-up used lens! At the lower aperture settings ... I took a chance and bought this lens used, so I'm not sure if the aberrations I see on the lense are from the previous owner or just the way the lens is. I have used this lens at the longest focal length hand-held with great results. This lens can take a beating too! I carry my camera with me everywhere I go, this lens hasn't been in a bag since I bought it and it's still in gorgeous condition. Not a flimsy piece of glass at all. The only complaint I have with this lens is the optic quality isn't as sharp as it could be, but the imperfections I notice through my viewfinder don't seem to show up in actual images. I really love this lens, it gives a great creative feel to images at lower apertures, and a crisp look at the higher end. This lens produces good images even hand-held which makes it a great lens to take on adventures.

Quantaray 70-210mm lwns
I bought ths lens because I have another 79-200mm vintage lens that is not too sharp.I have a Quantary 66mm f1.7 lens that also have, and which is very sharp, even when I focus manually, so I thought I'd search eBay for a Quantaray zoom. I'm imprssed with the size of the lens and rhe sharpness. Works Perfectly with my n90s & n80
pretty darn good for the local wildlife at distances to 75 yards. Sharpness could always be better, but even many high end lenses are so great either. Nicely made and nicely compact.
