About this product

Product Information

If you re looking for a dual-purpose telescope appropriate for both terrestrial and celestial viewing, then the AstroMaster Series is for you. Each AstroMaster model is capable of giving correct views of land and sky. The AstroMaster Series produce bright, clear images of the Moon and planets. It is easy to see the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn with every one of these fine instruments. For views of the brighter deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae, we recommend the larger aperture and light gathering ability of the Newtonian reflectors.

  • Keep Shopping, Better Telescopes are Available

Other than the fine adjustment controls on the tripod, everything worked well. The R.A Slow motion cable and the Dec.Slow motion cable do not work. I can tell when I attempt to make adjustments with these controls that the machining put into fabricating this was not well considered. When I turn the controllers it feels like I might strip the threads out and they do not move the telescope at all. The counter weight is too much for the quality of the controls mechanism. The optics are good not great and the viewing of most anything other than the moon is pretty much not happening.

  • Great buy.

Contents were undamaged and in fine shape. This was a great savings over retail sellers. The telescope is nice quality starter to experienced model. Construction is quite robust.
