About this product

    Product Information

Nintendo's iconic vulpine pilot and his team return to once again save the universe from the evil Andross in Star Fox Zero. Gamers join Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Slippy Toad, and Peppy Hare as they engage in fast-paced battles on land, in the sky, and in outer space. As players move from 3D dogfights to ground-based battles they can pilot a variety of vehicles, including the classic Arwing, the tank-like Landmaster, and the Gyrowing hovercraft, and gamers can use their TV to fly and find targets, then switch to the GamePad to see through the pilot's eyes.

Multiplayer fans can join a friend for local co-op, with one gamer steering the ship and the other launching smart bombs and three different kinds of lasers, and Star Fox Zero also lets players scan their Fox McCloud amiibo to unlock the retro Arwing from the original SNES version of Star Fox.

A bright enough Star Fox game

I have been hearing things about this game that made me doubt into buying it, mostly that the controls are terrible, but in reality. They are not bad, AT ALL, is a bit hard at the beginning but you can either have the motion controls always on, or just when you are pressing the shooting button, which is the setting i find more comfortable. The gameplay is fun and entertaining.

A decent game not quite up to par with its forebears

Controls aren't quite as solid as the original or StarFox 64. It's not as engaging, probably because the power of the system allows larger overall playfields, so it's not as hectic as the former two. I'm not sure how to put it though, but it's not as fun, perhaps it's a matter of the controller as I only have the required touch-gamepad, so maybe with a Pro controller my experience might improve. The secondary game...not fun. I know some who prefer variations on tower defense, and while this one is very hectic, it's hard to get into the flow of. Still good if wanting to get into the mindset of split focus. Maybe I'm not in the right mindset for it, though this style of game is not a favourite of mine. Great deal and price though, so well worth the purchase. Plus it's locked to the ...

      • Good re-imagining of a classic

I'll admit to liking prior Starfox games. Sure I haven't played all of them, (Namely Starfox Command) but this game is a really solid re-imagining of the classic Starfox story. The motion controls take some getting used to (I've seen critics opinions) but if you set it to where the motion controls are on when you're shooting it makes things a heck of a lot easier to manage. All in all, I really like the choices they made with this game. Not absurdly hard, but not easy either. A good challenge for someone who wants a decent game.

      • Fun Game-play and Enjoying the Versatility of the Game-play with the Wii U Gamepad

This will be my first experience with a Star Fox game. Have plenty of experience with Mario; I wanted to give this game a shot. Game play is compelling and has a decent story. I love how one can switch views depending on what situation one is in. Also to use the game pad for a tech robot to hack systems and get into small spaces is fun as can be. I am enjoying this game and appreciate Nintendo for continuing to release quality games.

      • Star Fox Zero great, Guard not so much

I bought this for the Star Fox Zero game which I really enjoy, I am having some problems with switching between views for the play but thinking experience will help this. SFGuard, I find fairly boring thus far, doesn't keep my attention defending an electric grid by shooting robots..
