    Great little camera

I'm an artist, and use it a lot for reference material.. I have to remember that it often loses faint mountain images against a light sky. Other than that, and having limited image resolution by today's standards, it's a great camera, light and portable and uncomplicated.

  • Nikon over Cannon

Pros: It has incredible zoom capabilities, and it takes some of it's best pictures in natural light and at night. The colors are vibrant, and vivid. The wide-angle lens is spectacular! MUCH better than Cannons and Kodak cameras. Great Manual flash selection; great macro; light weight; user friendly; reasonable video quality. High ISO and up to 45 FPS in continuous sports mode allows for bright pics of fast action shots in ice hockey rink. Cons: The motion sensibility is a little touchy when you zoom in. Indoor pictures can use a little touch up. The LCD screen doesn't show how good the picture really is. It might look too bright on the screen, but on the computer and when printed pictures look great. High ISO and 3 megapixels in the sports mode results in more noise when enlarged.

  • Nikon Portable Camera

I got this for a gift to a person who is not an ardent photographer. She's certainly enjoying it, particularly for it's portability and small size. The delay when hitting the shutter button to when the picture is actually taken is a bit of learning experience and a hinderance to taking action shots. The action shot setting is okay, but it does take a lot of pics that must be deleted. The manual is okay if you've used a digital camera in the past, but only the "Getting Started Section" was useful for this novice. She needs some explanation of the remainder of manual and it's many features, settings and actions. In any case, it was a good gift and will be enjoyed for a long while.

  • Nikon Coolpix P90 12.0 Megapixel

This was not my original choice in cameras. I didn't actually read the reviews on it until after I purchased, which is completely out of character for me. Anyway, some of the reviews I read put me off a bit, but I look at it like buying a car. Your never going to find every single feature you're looking for in one product. There will always be something about another brand that you like more. In reading an abundance of reviews about all the superzoom cameras, I found just that. On a whole, I absolutely love this camera. I think it takes beautiful pictures. I have learned a lot about adjustments and creating your own great pictures since I got it. I didn't find this difficult to use at all. Of course you need to be willing to take some initiative with the product and play with all the ...

  • Nikon Coolpix P90 an overall cool buy

I decided to buy the Nikon Coolpix P90 with 12.0 mps because I wanted a camera with better zoom, higher megapixels (upgrading from a 7.1 mp camera) and overall better quality pictures. I researched and read many reviews before purchasing. The fact that it is a Nikon was also a deciding factor. In comparison to the Nikon Coolpix P80, there's not a lot of differences. I had looked at both and although the P80 (zoom: 18x's) would have done nicely for me, I wanted the better zoom the P90 offered (24X's). Also, the flip-out screen was an added plus. It helps take photos overhead, when there might be someone or something blocking your view. Holding the camera up higher and using the flip-screen helps to get that otherwise elusive shot. Also, I have had great success with outdoor shots. They ...
