    LG G8X dual screen case is a must have *if* you multitask a lot and can live with the extra phone bulk

    Got the LG G8X phone first to replace my Samsung Note 8. Upon getting it, I felt it was a fine device, but a bit unspectacular. The price on eBay made it a great deal, though, bang for buck. Then I got the dual screen case. That is the game change with the LG! If you use 2 monitors with your computer, you know exactly what it means to have 2 screens on your phone! Productivity is just hugely better when you can multitask and see/do things side by side. The idea of having the dual screen feature be a case, where you can take the phone out when you don't want/need the dual screens, is also very smart. There are simply times when it doesn't make sense to have the extra bulk of and/or risk my investment in both screens. The LG solution is ingenious in that it allows 90% the benefit ...

    OK, and somewhat useful, but not a substitute for a true folding phone

    As with professional reviews, this is a crude alternative to actual folding phones such as Samsung's and Lenovo's, but it is much more cost effective for the few apps (mostly Google's) that can split across this second screen, i.e. web pages on Chrome and navigating on Google Maps (although mounting on a dashboard can be challenging). I mostly use it at home for the "big view", as it adds a lot to the bulk of an already large phone for carrying in a belt holster on-the-go, although I did that when trying out the navigating with Google Maps. It seems that Microsoft's Duo does a better job of maximizing the utility of split screens, but even that has disappointed reviewers (and costs a LOT more than the LG G8X/dual screen combo).

    I like Fisher Price style protection for my phone but this is great for games and watching videos while you do other stuff on the other screen.

    It's cool and seems fairly sturdy. But I like phone cases that have the front plastic shell with the built in screen protector. I like cases that look like they're made by Fisher Price. If the dual screen case had that type of protection so that none of the screen surfaces were exposed I would be much happier. But it works great and as long as you're careful it should be fine. I just don't like to think about having to be that careful with my phone. I want to be able to drop it and have it be fine.

    Thank goodness for replacements

    The dual case is stylish and fun to use. I could sell these things easily as it impresses friends and strangers alike when they see me use it. From past experience, the screen is breakable if dropped so it would be a good idea to keep it closed for better protection. I have a tendency to keep it open because I use it a lot.

    Won me over.

    I love it. There are a few quirks with software control of the secon screen, but they are managable. The camera is suprisingly sharp, fast, and has good manual contols. The phone is solid. Really solid. I spent more than i wanted to but would do it again.
