There was a delay caused by New Year's celebration. The seller himself is responsible and shipped the item as soon as he can. The item is as described, not i a perfect state, but fixable. Packaging was very good, camera has no damage caused by delivery

Love The Images - Crossing My Fingers On Durability

Bought this used in very good condition, durability remains to be seen. Some of these lenses acquire a slippage in the focus ring that can eventually make them unusable. First lens I bought had the early signs of this problem and was returned. That said, I've also seen lots of reviews from long time owners that make no mention of this issue so apparently it doesn't happen to all of them. What I can say at this point, the focus ring on the lens I have now doesn't have any slip, the focus is almost instant and the images are beautiful. This is also the first lens I've owned with IS and I already LOVE the added possibilities that brings. Amazing really. Bottom line, I have a full frame 5D and shoot mostly people and critters, and I'm expecting this will be the only lens on that camera on most ...

  • The Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS II is Terrific - but So Is Its Predecessor

The latest iteration of Canon's 70-200mm f/4L IS II is terrific, but so was its immediate predecessor. Both are relatively light - much lighter than their uptown cousin the f2.8L IS - so I find myself packing this lens to my vacation travel destinations more often. The lens is sharp throughout all apertures, and the image stabilization is such an asset, which brings me to this final comment. The only reason I replaced my Model I with this Model II is because the newer version's IS is now rated to five stops, which is huge for my increasingly less-steady hands. So a photographer in the market for this lens can go three ways - buy a used Model I for about $450, a new Model I for about $850, or a new Model II for $1,100. There is no wrong decision.

  • Great lens takes some learning

Initially, I was not pleased with the lens. I couldn't relate the reviews that i had read vs the pictures I was seeing. They were not well focused. I have the Canon 7D mark II. It has an excellent focusing system, as does the lens. Once I learned to use the camera better and the lens, I began getting wonderful pictures. The lens focuses rapidly as does the camera. When both are used properly the pictures are simply stunning. They are the best i have ever taken in over 50 years of photography. I am now in love with the lens.

  • Best choice, can't go wrong if you are a photographer.

The right choice all around, only negative to be said could be the loudness of the IS motor. But who cares in my case. When I just want to snap off some random stills, at whim. Where having that extra reach gets the job done very well. Not a movie camera lens but a photo lens as my purpose. Why would you even need sound if your filming landscapes? But all in all, it does for me precisely what I need it for. Video is only a B interest if that. A very useful and reliable Lens.

  • Sharp lens but not too heavy

I've been wanting to get an L series 70-200 lens for some time. It did not disappoint. In my quick tests it was pretty sharp. At work we have a 70-200 L f/2.8 and though I like that lens it's just too heavy to cart around. This lens is much lighter and smaller. Sure it doesn't have an f/2.8 aperture but I rarely ever need to shoot that wide open in my personal work. I like to have a bit more depth of field in my shots. Since I shoot on a tripod for all my long lens shots, I want to spend $450 more for an IS lens with the added complexity to the internals of the lens. I like simple and rugged gear.
