      AT&T Arris Wireless Gateway

      Changing to AT&T internet connection, I was informed that I would be charged $10 per month for the modem. My wife determined that the NVG589 was the modem that AT&T uses, and I purchased it prior to our installation, and AT&T installed it for me. It works fine.

      A Cost Saver and a Great Modem too

      I, like many others, had been on auto-pilot with AT&T U-verse, un-wittingly paying $7.00 per month modem rent for 3 years ($252.00), until an incident caused me to actually pay attention to what I was being billed for. After looking into things and Realizing that i could use my own modem, I found and purchased this modem, the exact same model that I had been renting, brand new, for less than $30.00 including shipping! It arrived in 2 days, I unplugged the rented modem, plugged in my own and was off to the races "RENT FREE!" It works like a charm with NO issues what-so-ever! I sent the rented ATT/U-verse modem back free of charge at a nearby UPS store and was done. My own modem is one month away from paying for itself, and the $84/year of rent payments will now stay in my own pockets.

      Arris Wireless NVG589 Router

      Any router purchased was not allowed to be used by AT&T U-verse internet service.

      After ordering this modem, found out AT&T would not accept using it since they want their fee for in effect renting this same unit for $10 per month. So this was a wasted purchase for me.
