I had to use a large pair of pliers to push the retaining clip through the hole that holds the new pull in place. PERFECT FIT. I closed the hood and pulled the inside lever. Presto! the new pull clip was sticking out from the grill and was easily pulled to unlatch the hood. Only question. WHY DID I WAIT 3 YEARS TO REPLACE THE PLASTIC ZIP TIE I WAS USING?

This one was a bit different, the part was advertised as "new". It should have been advertised as "new open box". Part is OEM BMW in packaging no doubt, but had been opened and retaped and box was beat up. Price was good though as usual with this seller. Also shipping was terribly slow, not sellers fault, USPS dropped the ball and sent it to the opposite side of the US.
