About this product

Product Information

Jimmy Cagney plays a gangster who, after returning from a stint in prison, decides to turn over a new leaf. His new career as a tabloid photographer, however, does little to smooth things over with Lieutenant Nolan--the skeptical cop whose daughter he's trying to romance. A lurid look at newsrooms in the 1930s, the film includes a scene based on the controversial photo of Ruth Snyder's execution.

    What a story, What a flick. Check it out.....

    Are you kidding. inarguably one of Cagneys best flicks. Jimmy is his usual tough guy but this time good guy character, throw in a little fancy foot work and..... He gets out of the jug, determined to go straight, he wrangles a job on a local newspaper. First up.....Get a snapshot of the FIRST WOMAN TO DIE IN THE ELECTRIC CHAIR. Based on a true story, google it for sure, its a whole lot of fun with a lot of great dialogue, fist fights and don't forget to pack a rod, Get it NOW.

    Okay- not the best of his films

    I am a big James Cagney fan. I was expecting much from this film, but was a little disappointed. It seems like a film that was just thrown together as compared to his other films that were well put together. I think roaring twenties, public enemy, yankee doodle, etc. were better. If you want to watch it better rent it first.
