The drive is designed for high-intensity applications, more so than any other 3.5-inch hard drive—internal or external. The Western Digital RE4 (WD2503ABYX) 250GB internal hard drive is built to offer reliability. Your computer needs don’t stop even when you aren’t on the clock. The Western Digital RE4 (WD2503ABYX) 250GB internal hard drive is designed to deliver the highest level of reliability for 24 by 7 by 365 operation, so you can rest easy knowing your computer is working even when you aren’t. The drive has up to 1.4 million hours of MTBF, so it can deliver reliability in the most demanding storage environments. The drive has a spindle speed of 7200 RPM with a 64MB cache buffer. It’s internal data transfer rate of 30 GB/S buffer to host and 128 mbp/s host to/from drive help it accomplish a number of tasks in addition to the 64MB cache SATA 3.0 GB/s. Outside of its cache, the drive features a dual processor to maximize performance with double the processing power. The Western Digital RE4 (WD2503ABYX) 250GB internal hard drive 7200 RPM features enhanced RAFF technology for vibration protection. The drive includes electronics that monitor the drive and ensure it continues to perform well in high vibration situations. The drive also features a head positioning system with a pair of actuators to improve positional accuracy over the data tracks. The primary actuator uses conventional electromagnetic actuator principles to provide coarse displacement. The other actuator uses piezoelectric motion to accomplish a higher degree of accuracy to fine tune the head positioning. The Western Digital RE4 (WD2503ABYX) 250GB internal hard drive’s 7200 RPM use StableTrac to secure both ends of the motor shaft to reduce system-induced vibration; this ensures accurate tracking when performing read and write operations. The RAID-specific, time-limited error recovery (TLER) helps the system avoid drive fallout common to desktop drives. The HDD also features NoTouch ramp load technology, reducing wear on the disc media. With this drive, you won’t have to worry about losing reliability because your drive overheats. The WD RE is put through a thermal extended burn-in test to ensure reliability. With engineering like this, you won’t need your warranty.

    You can get these pretty cheap slightly used and they work better in RAID and are pretty reliable. They usually include 30 days - 1 year of warranty depending on where you get them and how old they are
